Though most people on Earth believe in a Creator or Supreme Being, their ideas are not all the same. Islam recognizes the Creator's existence and Oneness and defines Him as possessing the most perfect traits in the Qur'an and Sunnah. This allows man to properly comprehend the Creator and have a deep relationship with Him by comprehending His sublime attributes. However, the impact of philosophy and other non-Islamic beliefs resulted in the creation of false notions about Allah. In his discussion of the false notions that have permeated Muslim minds regarding Allah and His attributes, Dr. 'Umar S. al-Ashqar emphasizes that the understanding of the Qur'anic verses and Hadith that refer to Allah and His attributes must be based on the understanding of the early Muslim scholars, or salaf.Dr. Al-Ashqar also examines modern concepts, such as the theory of evolution, and proves that they are wrong and false. Following the Qur'anic injunction to ponder the signs of Allah in the universe, he also pays attention to the study of natural phenomena that clearly point to the existence and oneness of the Almighty Creator. Thus, Dr. Al-Ashqar affirms the principle that lies at the heart of Islamic faith and practice, namely Tawheed, the Absolute Oneness of the Divine. The Islamic Creed Series Volumes 1–2: Belief in Allah; Volume 3: The World of the Noble Angels; Volume 4: The World of the Jinn and Devils; Volume 5: The Messengers and the Messages; Volume 6: The Day of Resurrection Vol. 7: Paradise and Hell; Vol. 8: Divine Will and Predestination; Dr. Umar S. al-Ashqar.
