Trials and Tribulations By Imam ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (d. 751H) With appendix from the work of al-Imam al-Izz bin Abdis-Salam (d. 660 H) (d. 751 H)

19B

A believer's faith, endurance, and patience may be put to the test via a variety of hardships. In a world full of wars, battles, natural disasters, and numerous personal and familial issues, Shaytan can make one wonder about a lot of things. A Muslim's sins—leaving something required or engaging in an unlawful act—are the only cause of their trial, whether it be physical, financial, or otherwise. But it is also a way for Allah to help His people, elevate one, and bestow prosperity. The Prophets and those closest to them were the most brutally tried. The Prophet Muhammad's (saw) companions were forced from their homes, their belongings abandoned, their opponents grew, they were occasionally overpowered and vanquished, and many of them were martyred. While his opponents cheered and his associates were dejected, the Messenger of Allah (saw) suffered facial injuries, including a broken molar tooth and a helmet that was crushed into his head. They were always afraid, poor, and destitute; they were so hungry that they were strapping boulders to their stomachs. Never did the Messenger of Allah (saw) eat too much bread in a single day. He suffered so many wounds that they questioned his most cherished wife's purity. The servant turns to Allah, the Almighty and Magnificent, when he is in a difficult situation. A person's ease, prosperity, and blessings frequently lead them to turn away from Allah.A person turns away from Allah because of ease, prosperity, and blessings. Many benefits, with varying degrees of significance according to the different ranks of people, were found in hardships, trials, disasters, and calamities. Christians endure such a great deal of suffering that they eventually walk this earth without any traces of sin on them. This amazing work covers a wide range of topics related to hardships, such as acknowledging the magnificence of Allah, humility, rejecting servitude, sincerity for Allah, patience, supplication, atonement for sins, and many more advantages and insights.Every reader will benefit from this Iman-boosting work, which will also help them build an awareness that they should become accustomed to throughout difficult circumstances. Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, the author (d. 751H), was one of the most prolific Islamic intellectuals. He spent sixteen years studying under Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and stayed with him until his death, during which time he learned a great deal from him. He wrote more than sixty books that covered a wide range of Islamic disciplines. His writings are notable for their heartfelt and soul-stirring messages. He was extremely holy and devout.
